Stable 172

Introducing Matic Cues — Voice & Gesture Control

Talk to Matic like you'd talk to a helper. Matic understands natural language, so say it your way. Here's everything you can ask:

  • Clean a room: "Hey, Matic — clean the kitchen." Works with mopping and vacuuming too: "mop the bedroom," "vacuum the hallway." You can chain multiple rooms in one command.
  • Clean everywhere: "Clean the whole house," "clean all rooms."
  • Clean by surface or detail: "Clean the carpets," "clean the hard floors," "clean the edges," "clean the toekicks" — target exactly the surfaces that need it, in one room or the whole home.
  • Clean this: Point at a spot and say "clean this" — Matic sees where you're pointing and cleans that exact area.
  • Clean it again: "Redo last clean" repeats your most recent cleaning session.
  • Send it somewhere: "Go to the kitchen" sends Matic to any room you've named on your map.
  • Follow me: "Follow me" — Matic follows you to wherever needs attention.
  • Refill: "Go to the sink" — Matic comes to the sink for a water refill.
  • Pause and resume: "Pause" holds position until you say "resume."
  • Go home: "Dock" sends Matic back to its charger.
  • Give me space: "Go away" — Matic skips the current room and moves on, or heads back to the dock.

After splitting or merging areas, Matic now reestimates orientation to ensure interior cleaning corridors align more accurately, resulting in smarter coverage.

Stable 99

Toekick Support Enabled

The robot now detects and cleans along toekicks — low spaces under cabinets or furniture — for better edge coverage throughout the home.

Single Pass Mopping

Optimized mopping routine to use a single pass - the robot now will select only the perpendicular corridors that help fill actual coverage gaps — eliminating unnecessary passes — optimizing performance and water usage.

Memory Optimization

Freed up ~100MB of memory, giving the robot more room to handle larger maps and run more smoothly.

Session Summary Fix

Addressed an issue where certain rooms were incorrectly marked as completed in the session summary.

Stable 98

Smarter Edge Mopping

Improved mopping performance during edge cleaning, especially along straight walls.

Improved Wire Prediction Model

Introduced a new wire model to better predict wires and improve performance.

Room Completion Fix

Resolved a bug in the session summary where some rooms were incorrectly marked as completed. App Updates:

Delete Old Matics

Users can now remove previously connected Matic devices from the app.

Stable 97

Improved Path Planning Predictability

Enhanced Matic’s navigation logic to create more consistent and efficient cleaning paths, reducing randomness in movement.

Driver Timeout Handling

Updated the Matic's driver behavior to explicitly return an error when a timeout occurs. This prevents timeouts from being misclassified as anomalies, reducing instances of sudden stops.

Duplicate Room Coverage

Resolved an issue where Matic would clean the same room multiple times within a session, upon customization of room boundaries.

Stable 96

Transition Cleaning

Matic now attempts to clean transition areas—small spaces between carpets and hard floors—to optimize cleaning coverage.

New GUI Implementation

We’ve revamped Matic’s graphical interface using iced, a cross-platform Rust GUI library. The new design aligns closely with our app’s look and feel, maintaining consistent colors, fonts, and icons. Additionally, memory usage has been significantly reduced from ~30 MB to ~20 MB.

Improved Edge Cleaning Motion

Matic now maintains a straighter path during edge cleaning for more precise results.

Mopping Skipped Rooms

Fixed an issue where Matic would occasionally skip mopping certain rooms. Firmware Updates:

Pre-Mopping Check for Better Efficacy

Matic now performs an additional verification step before mopping to ensure optimal cleaning effectiveness.

Improved Sweeper & Duct Obstruction Detection

The system now more accurately differentiates between a detached sweeper and an obstruction in the duct.

Stable 95

DINO Model Enhancements

Introduced DINO (Distillation with No Labels), a transformer-based neural net model that significantly improves occupancy map predictions, particularly for steps. The system now processes Bayer images as input, eliminating the need for computationally expensive image processing. This not only reduces latency but also preserves richer signal data, leading to more accurate predictions.

Scheduled Queuing

When a robot is manually controlled via joysticking or user navigation, it will now automatically resume its scheduled session afterward.

Stable 94

Stop Flow Improvement

If the user presses stop while the robot is idle docking, it will come to a full halt.

Lost Robot Fix

Reduced instances of the robot getting lost, leading to more completed cleans.

Docking Loop Issue Resolved

Previously, in rare cases, the robot would repeatedly dock and undock after finishing cleaning.

Session History Accuracy

Fixed an issue where session history incorrectly reported that cleaning was not completed.

Edge Cleaning Accuracy

Resolved an issue where edge cleaning was falsely reported as incomplete in areas with many obstacles.

Mopping Navigation Fix

The robot now moves to the correct location immediately when beginning to mop. Firmware Updates:

Brush Roll Dislodged Detection

Matic can now detect if the brush roll is placed incorrectly during sweeping.

Stable 93

Enhanced Edge Cleaning

Improved edge detection for better coverage in corners.

Corridor Navigation Fix

Resolved an issue where the robot could get lost in corridors, ensuring more stable navigation.

Refined Mopping Behavior

Adjusted mopping patterns to further prevent water drips.

Adaptive Saturation Algorithm

Introduced a new algorithm that adjusts based on the mop roll’s lifetime, ensuring consistent moisture levels for effective cleaning.

Stable 92

Robot Lifted Error Support

Enhanced detection and resolution for improved error handling. Firmware Updates:

Optimized Airflow

Improved airflow model to enhance bag capacity and overall efficiency.
